Travel Pathology Assistant - $3,520 per week

Job Summary

The Pathology Assistant (PA) position is located in Tucson, Arizona. This role involves providing technical assistance including grossing of specimens, photography, and dictation. The PA supports attending pathologists with intra-operative consultations, gross dissection, and frozen section preparation under supervision, contributing to surgical and autopsy functions. The position also entails training medical residents and students in gross surgical specimen handling.

Job Details

• Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• B.S. degree or higher within the field of biological or biomedical sciences
• Completion of a National Accrediting Agency Clinical Laboratory Science approved Pathologists' Assistant program
• A minimum of three to five years of experience working in an academic setting with a resident training program
• Demonstrated ability to supervise and train staff
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Strong rapport with departmental personnel
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends on-call

Preferred Qualifications

• M.S. or PhD within the field of biomedical sciences
• Additional education or experience in biomedical research involving human tissue or tissue/biospecimen banking
