About the role

Join a fast-paced, outpatient surgery center specializing in heavy ophthalmology cases such as cataract extraction and local pain management. This is a 13-week contract position with a day shift, 5x8-hour schedule from 07:00 to 15:30. No on-call, weekend, or floating requirements. Shift hours may vary based on daily schedule.

Experience in Phase I PACU, Phase II recovery, and pre/post-operative care is essential. Ortho experience is a plus, including total joint replacements and related procedures. Candidates must be proficient in IV administration.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for patients undergoing outpatient surgical procedures.
• Oversee Phase I PACU and Phase II Recovery settings.
• Conduct pre-operative assessments, education, and prepare patients for discharge.
• Administer medications and manage pain effectively.
• Maintain accurate patient records and charting.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in PACU or outpatient settings.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS; PALS certification preferred.
• Proven experience and proficiency in starting and maintaining IVs.

Pay

Pay package is based on 8-hour shifts and 40.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
