Travel PACU RN - $1,979 per week

About the role

TotalMed is seeking a travel nurse RN for a PACU - Post Anesthesia Care position in Portland, Oregon. This is a 13-week travel nursing assignment with 36 hours per week, 12-hour day shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide observation and care for post-op patients as they recover from surgical anesthesia
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions during the crucial care step between surgery and recovery
• Handle a broad range of patients from pediatrics to adults
• Develop individualized care plans based on each patient's condition
• Monitor critical patients for condition changes and report to the physician
• Determine when patients are recovered and ready to move to a room
• Stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean and stoop without difficulty
• Lift up to 20 pounds easily, with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds for moving or lifting patients
• Cope with stress and relate to people of all ages and backgrounds in a fast-paced environment

Requirements

• 1-2 years recent acute care experience
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• PALS certification
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment
