Travel PACU Registered Nurse - $2,590 per week

Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN PACU - Post Anesthesia Care for a travel nursing job in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

This position involves providing care to a diverse patient population, including pediatric and adult patients, recovering from various surgical procedures such as cardiothoracic, neurosurgery, orthopedics, and more. The role focuses on managing patient recovery, interpreting cardiac rhythms, and ensuring safe discharge protocols in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Recovering patients post-cardiothoracic, neurosurgery, orthopedics, and other surgical procedures
• Managing patient recovery and ensuring safe discharge protocols
• Interpreting cardiac rhythms
• Managing cardiac drips
• Providing discharge instructions
• Recovering post-cath, bronch, and IR patients
• Managing ventilated patients
• Managing arterial lines, TR bands, chest tubes, and continuous bladder irrigation (CBI)

Requirements

• RN license
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• CAPA or CPAN certification
• Minimum 2 years PACU experience managing adult and pediatric patients
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythms

Skills

• Experience in PACU
• Experience managing ventilated patients
• Experience managing arterial lines, TR bands, chest tubes, and continuous bladder irrigation (CBI)
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record system

Support within the Department

• Charge nurses, CNA/LPN staff, float staff
• Bedside and nursing station telemonitoring
• 24/7 hospitalist coverage
• Anesthesia/CRNA support
• Surgeons support

Technology/Equipment

• EMR (EPIC)
• IV Pump (Alaris)
• Pyxis medication dispensing system

Floating

Float rotation may be required, with candidates floating between Phase I and Phase II recovery for Main and East PACU units.
