Travel PACU Registered Nurse - $2,520 per week

About the role

The PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) Nurse is responsible for providing safe and effective care to patients in outpatient services, pre-operative, post-operative, and procedural sedation settings. This role involves patient assessment, education, and discharge, ensuring the well-being of patients across all age groups in the perioperative environment. Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care
• Perform focused assessments
• Monitor hemodynamic status and interpret results
• Prepare patients for procedures
• Assist physicians
• Maintain accurate documentation
• Educate patients and families
• Administer medications and IV fluids
• Perform treatments within training limits
• Ability to work effectively in stressful situations
• Excellent communication skills
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection control principles
• Work with diverse patient populations across various age groups
• Assist in maintaining a clean, stocked work environment
• Participate in onboarding and supervision of nursing students
• Collaborate with other departments for smooth patient transfers

Requirements

• Current Wyoming licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse
• BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certifications required
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire, or as class availability allows
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an acute care or surgical services area preferred; at least 2 years of experience highly desirable

Schedule

Days shift, 10 hours shifts, minimum of 40 hours per week
