Travel PACU Registered Nurse - $2,310 per week

Travel nursing assignment in Wausau, Wisconsin for a Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse (RN). Duration: 13 weeks, 40 hours per week, day shift.

About the role

The organization is seeking a qualified PACU RN to provide post-operative recovery care to a diverse patient population, including general, spine, neuro, gastrointestinal, ENT, cardiac, vascular, and orthopedic cases. The PACU nurse will stabilize patients before transfer to intensive care units and manage up to 35 patients daily within a 14-bed recovery unit.

Responsibilities

• Provide post-operative recovery care for patients undergoing general, spine, neuro, GI, ENT, cardiac, vascular, and orthopedic procedures
• Stabilize patients before transfer to intensive care units
• Manage up to 35 patients daily in a 14-bed recovery unit with a 1:2 patient ratio
• Respond to on-call shifts once per week for 4 weeks and every 5th weekend with a 30-minute response time
• Adhere to mandatory mask-wearing policy during flu season if declining flu and COVID vaccinations

Schedule

• Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts per week
• Variable start times: 0730, 0800, and 0900
• On call once per week for 4 weeks and every 5th weekend (call shifts begin at 11 am)
• Guaranteed set hours per week outside of holidays

Requirements

• Wisconsin RN license
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• At least 2 years of recent hospital PACU experience, including post-cardiac and pediatric care
• Electronic charting experience strongly preferred (Epic or previous electronic charting background)
