Job Description
The Outpatient Physical Therapist evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans according to the patient’s needs, goals, and physician directions. The therapist is responsible for the delegation and direction of all discipline-specific therapy services for those patients and ensures the design of functional treatment programs that allow for effective return to community activities. The role also includes educating patients, families, students, coworkers, and self, while upholding professional standards and compliance with the organizational Code of Conduct.
Responsibilities
Completes comprehensive evaluations and develops appropriate treatment plans focused on progressing patients towards discharge.
Documents patient care in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner, in compliance with state, federal, and organizational guidelines.
Participates in the student program, ensuring a positive learning environment for students.
Actively pursues continuing education and professional development to meet strategic organizational objectives.
Maintains licensure in good standing and adheres to the discipline-specific State Practice Act.
Demonstrates awareness of organizational performance improvement initiatives and provides feedback for maximizing performance outcomes.
Requirements
Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school.
6 months to 1 year of outpatient clinical experience is required.
Current CPR certification.
Active and applicable state licensure for practicing as a Physical Therapist.
