Description
Outpatient rehabilitation therapy setting at a hospital
Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM day shift
Focus on orthopedic cases including shoulders, elbows, wrists, and hands, as well as neurological rehabilitation
Specialized procedures include splinting fabrication and modifications, manual therapy, modalities, and therapeutic exercise
Requirements
- Graduate of an AOTA-accredited Occupational Therapy program
- Active Montana OT license required (license required if applicable)
- Current AHA BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of hospital-based (inpatient/outpatient) OT experience preferred
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and perform physically demanding tasks including standing, walking, twisting, bending, and reaching above shoulder level
- Candidates must live at least 90 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Evaluate physical and functional status including muscle groups, motor function, upper extremity function, ADLs, coordination, and neurological status
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans including therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular reeducation, ADL training, splinting, and AAC and mobility consultations
- Prepare home exercise programs and provide patient, family, and caregiver education on pain management, safety, and individualized care plans
- Perform Functional Capacity Evaluations, work screens, and driver's evaluations (if trained)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and other healthcare providers for coordinated care planning
- Document evaluations, progress notes, daily treatments, and discharge summaries in compliance with facility rehabilitation policies
- Participate in two hours of cerebrovascular disease (stroke) education within one year of hire is required
- Must demonstrate strong emotional intelligence, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently in a busy environment
