About the role

The organization is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide outpatient occupational therapy services focused on assessment, planning, and implementation of treatment programs. The role involves evaluating physical, psychological, cognitive, and social needs, coordinating with the rehabilitation team, and documenting patient progress.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients to identify physical, psychological, cognitive, and social needs and limitations
  • Develop and implement occupational therapy programs for patients across age groups, including activities of daily living and sensorimotor, perceptual-motor, educational, recreational, and social activities
  • Cook up treatment plans based on individual patient physical capacity, cognitive level, and interests
  • Provide instruction and evaluate progress in self-care activities and related independence skills
  • Perform work site analysis and provide written recommendations
  • Requisition supplies and equipment and maintain/repair tools and equipment as needed
  • Design, fabricate, and fit adaptive devices such as splints and braces
  • Record and report patient progress from each treatment session
  • Provide therapy services for home health and other contracted facilities or groups as applicable
  • Participate in training programs and provide instruction to medical and nursing personnel on occupational therapy techniques and objectives
  • Support supervision responsibilities for rehabilitation aides, students, and rehabilitation secretary/aide and COTA as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information and demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills with coworkers, patients, families, and visitors

Requirements

  • Current licensure eligibility and registration requirements for North Dakota, including necessary requisites for licensure in North Dakota and current registration by NBCOT
  • Master of Science (M.S.) or Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Must complete CPR every other year

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least one year of work experience as an occupational therapist (desirable, but not required)
