About the Role
American Traveler is seeking a Physical or Occupational Therapist specializing in Outpatient Hand Therapy for a 13-week travel assignment in Hillsboro, Oregon. The role requires 1+ years of relevant experience in an outpatient hand therapy clinic setting.
Patient population includes adults with hand injuries, nerve injuries, tendon repairs, arthritis, and upper extremity conditions. The schedule is offered as either 4x10-hour shifts (7:30 AM–6:00 PM) or 5x8-hour shifts (8:00 AM–4:30 PM). No floating is required within this unit, though candidates may float to an affiliate hospital nearby per unit needs. Epic is used for charting.
Responsibilities
- Evaluation, assessment, and treatment planning for outpatient hand therapy patients
- Discharge documentation
Refusal to float as requested to an affiliate hospital may result in contract cancellation.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience in outpatient hand therapy (no new graduates considered)
- BLS certification required (AHA-approved; RQI not accepted)
- Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Active state license required if applicable
- Experience with splinting, edema massage, electrical stimulation, and kinesiotaping preferred
- Experience with dynamic, functional, static, and serial/inhibitory splinting preferred
- Proof of COVID vaccination required (no exemptions accepted)
- Two professional references from a supervisor within the last 24 months (charge RN references not accepted)
First-time travelers will be considered. Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restriction. Requested time off must be submitted upfront and cannot exceed 2 weeks. Former employees or previous travelers at this facility must be separated for 6+ months before returning. Returning candidates must provide a reference from their previous supervisor at this facility.
