Travel Outpatient Dialysis RN - $1,978 per week

TotalMed is seeking a Dialysis RN for a travel nursing opportunity in Janesville, WI. The right candidate should have 1-2 years recent acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide care and support for patients suffering from acute and chronic renal (kidney) failure
• Assist pre- and during dialysis procedures, following physician orders
• Prime dialyzer and bloodlines
• Record patients' medical information and vital signs
• Prepare dialysis equipment
• Oversee dialysis treatment
• Cannulate accesses
• Clean and dress permanent and temporary catheters
• Identify irregular dialysis reactions and notify appropriate medical team members
• Teach patient and significant others how to manage illness

Requirements

• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• 1 year of recent acute care experience
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
• Ability to bend, lean and stoop without difficulty
• Ability to easily lift 20 pounds
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at times (moving or lifting patients)
• Good skills for coping with stress
• Ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment
