Travel Ortho Tele RN - $1,992 per week

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for a Medical Surgical / Telemetry position in Morgantown, West Virginia. The assignment starts ASAP, lasts 13 weeks, with 36 hours per week on 12‑hour night shifts. Employment type is travel.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on immediate conditions or needs.
• Perform ongoing assessments and appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician.
• Document patient findings and provide education and support to patients’ families.
• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre‑ and post‑op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and assist the physician during examination and treatment.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plans as prescribed.

Requirements

• Current BLS certification.
• 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience (Medical Surgical/Telemetry preferred).
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean and stoop without difficulty.
• Ability to lift 20 lbs routinely; patient moving/lifting may require up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment with patients who may be confused, agitated, or uncooperative.
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning the assignment.
