About the role
The Surgical Services RN - Cataract position requires a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in surgical nursing, with a focus on cataract experience. This role is a 13-week contract position starting September 28, 2026, with a 4-day workweek and a 32-hour guarantee.
Responsibilities
- Function effectively as a circulating nurse and scrubbing nurse in the surgical services department.
- Provide specialized care for a variety of surgical services, including General Surgery, Urology, Ophthalmology, Podiatry, Pain Management, and Endoscopy procedures.
- Collaborate with surgical team members to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Cataract experience is required and is non-negotiable.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in surgical nursing.
- Experience in scrubbing and circulating for surgeries is necessary.
- Phase I/PACU experience is required.
- Experience working in a smaller operating room facility is preferred.
- Multiple surgical experience is essential.
- Cerner EMR experience is mandatory.
- BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications are required.
- Must possess a valid Vermont nursing license.

Pay
Pay package is based on 8 hour shifts and 40.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
