Travel OR RN - $2,631 per week

About the role

Jackson Nurse Professionals is seeking a travel nurse RN for the Operating Room (OR) in Des Moines, Iowa. The position is a 13‑week travel assignment starting October 5, 2026, requiring 40 hours per week on 12‑hour day shifts.

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient ratios of 1:1 in a 16‑bed OR.
• Manage an average caseload of 35‑50 cases per day.
• Ensure turnover times are under 20 minutes.
• Operate and assist with three DaVinci robotic systems.
• Utilize Stealth technology for neuro‑navigation.
• Primarily use Synthes or Stryker equipment for orthopedic trauma cases.
• Support 16 operating rooms, typically running 12‑14 rooms daily.
• Function as part of a Level 1 trauma center, reserving capacity for trauma cases.
• Work across service lines including Cardiac/PV, Neuro, orthopedic trauma, robotics, GYN, URO, general surgery, pediatrics, transplants, and limited ENT/plastic procedures.
• Perform both scrub and circulate roles as preferred.

Requirements

• Current RN license.
• Specialty experience in Operating Room (OR) nursing.
• Availability to start October 5, 2026.
• Commitment to a 13‑week travel assignment.
• Willingness to work 40 hours per week on 12‑hour day shifts.

Skills

• Proficiency with EPIC charting system.
• Experience with robotic assisted surgery (DaVinci).
• Familiarity with Stealth neuro‑navigation technology.
• Competence using Synthes or Stryker orthopedic trauma instrumentation.
• Ability to function as both scrub and circulate nurse.
