About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Operating Room Nurse to provide high-quality surgical patient care. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in both vascular and orthopedic surgeries, with the ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care in the operating room setting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and maintain thorough documentation.
• Create and uphold a sterile and safe surgical environment.
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative education to patients and their families.
• Monitor the physical and emotional well-being of patients throughout the surgical process.
• Coordinate and integrate patient care during the surgical continuum.
• Primarily function in a circulating role, with scrub experience as a valuable asset.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of current operating room experience is required.
• Experience floating to various specialties including vascular, orthopedic, trauma, general surgery, robotics, urology, and ENT is required.
• Travel nursing experience is preferred.
• Proficiency in EPIC electronic medical records is required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• Must have experience as both a scrub and circulating nurse.
• Candidates must possess their own vehicle for transportation.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs is necessary.

Additional Requirements

• COVID vaccinations are encouraged but not mandatory.
• Non-billable orientation of 8 hours will be required.
• Requested time off during the assignment must be submitted at the time of application.
• Must have completed required training prior to onboarding, with options including Welle, CPI, or PMCS training programs.
• This position involves working closely with a diverse patient population, including both pediatric and adult patients.
• The operating rooms encompass a variety of surgical specialties, excluding cardiac and ophthalmology, with an average of 50 procedures performed daily.
