About the role

The Operating Room Nurse provides essential surgical patient care by assessing, planning, and implementing nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures. This role emphasizes creating and maintaining a sterile environment, offering pre- and post-operative education, and ensuring continual monitoring of the patient's physical and emotional well-being throughout the surgical care continuum.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments prior to surgical procedures.
  • Maintain a sterile and safe surgical environment.
  • Provide pre- and post-operative education to patients.
  • Monitor patient’s physical and emotional status during surgical care.
  • Collaborate with surgical team members to coordinate patient care.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of current Operating Room experience.
  • Experience with vascular, orthopedic, trauma, general surgery, robotics, urology, and ENT.
  • Travel experience is required.
  • EPIC Experience is mandatory.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
  • Both scrub and circulate experience are necessary.
  • Valid New York Temporary Health Care Service Agency License/Registration Certificate.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Personal vehicle required.

Schedule

  • Days, 8-hour shifts from 7 AM to 3:30 PM.
  • 40 hours per week.
