Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Operating Room will provide direct care in a fast-paced environment, functioning as a member of the patient care team. The role involves serving pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients and requires proficiency in a variety of surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, age-appropriate care to patients during surgical procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families, serving as a resource for information and support.
  • Proficiently manage operations involving Trauma, ENT, Colorectal, Plastics, Neurosurgery, Surgical Oncology, among others.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care and adherence to evidence-based standards.
  • Participate in the orientation of new staff as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Minimum of 2 years of Operating Room experience required, with Level II trauma experience preferred.
  • Must possess a valid Maryland RN license or a compact RN license upon submission.
  • BLS certification required; ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications preferred.
  • Completion of a 16-hour Maryland-approved trauma course within the first 27 weeks and 8 hours of annual trauma CEUs.

Contract & local rates may vary based on location and applicant residency. Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
