About the role

Medical Solutions is seeking a travel nurse RN for an Operating Room position in Michigan City, Indiana. This is a 13‑week travel assignment requiring 36 hours per week on 10‑hour day shifts. The OR has five rooms with an average case load of 2‑7 cases per room per day, primarily General, OBGYN, and ENT. The nurse may float to the Ops area (PACU/GI/Endo) and will work with the Pyxis medication system while the facility transitions to EPIC charting; EPIC experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Circulate in the operating room and support surgical teams.
• Manage a variable case load of 2‑7 cases per room per day across General, OBGYN, and ENT specialties.
• Float to the Ops area (PACU/GI/Endo) as needed.
• Operate the Pyxis medication system.
• Utilize the EPIC charting system (experience preferred).
• Ensure safe, efficient patient care throughout the perioperative process.

Requirements

• Active RN license.
• Operating Room nursing experience.
• Ability to work 10‑hour day shifts, 36 hours per week.
• Willingness to travel for a 13‑week assignment.

Skills

• Strong preference for EPIC charting experience.
• Experience with Pyxis medication system.
• PACU/GI/Endo experience is preferred.
• Ability to float to the Ops area and adapt to varying case acuity.
