Travel OR Charge Nurse

Department: OR/Surgery • Location: Lewiston, Maine

Responsibilities

• Oversees OR operations and nursing staff during shifts
• Ensures safe, high-quality patient care and compliance with regulations and hospital policies
• Manages staffing, scheduling, and daily assignments
• Supervises, coaches, and supports staff development and performance
• Assists with performance management and HR activities
• Monitors supplies, equipment, and department readiness
• Coordinates surgical services, patient flow, and care transitions
• Addresses patient care concerns and escalates issues appropriately
• Rounds with patients and families to ensure positive experiences
• Provides direct patient care as needed to maintain safety and standards

Qualifications

• Valid RN license in the state
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications (maintained)
• Minimum of one year as a staff nurse in acute care or ED setting
• Previous supervisory experience in an acute care surgical OR setting (1-2 years)
• Competency in Sedation Monitoring

Pay

Up to $1,657–$2,297 weekly (gross), $41.44–$57.43/hour
