MedPro Healthcare Allied Staffing is seeking a travel Surgical First Assistant for a contract with one of their top healthcare clients.

Responsibilities

• The primary responsibility of the Surgical First Assistant is to provide direct assistance to surgeons during surgical procedures.
• Provide patient positioning for optimal surgical exposure, using stabilizing equipment as necessary, while maintaining patient comfort and safety.
• Utilize appropriate techniques to achieve temporary and permanent hemostasis.
• Absorb and apply wound dressings and secure drainage systems.
• Participate in emergency resuscitation and stabilization if needed.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Certified by the National Board on Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting as a surgical technologist and surgical first assistant.
• Current BLS Certification.
