About the role

The Operating Room RN will provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care throughout the surgical process, including pre-operative preparation, intra-operative support, and post-operative recovery. The RN will collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other members of the perioperative team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe and effective nursing care to surgical patients throughout the perioperative period.
  • Prepare patients, equipment, instruments, and supplies for surgical procedures.
  • Assist with circulating duties and maintain a safe and sterile surgical environment.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia staff, surgical technologists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Monitor patients and respond promptly to changes in condition.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC.
  • Follow infection-control, patient-safety, and surgical-site protocols.
  • Participate in weekday and weekend call coverage according to the established schedule (every 4th–5th weekend on call and one weeknight of call per week).

Requirements

  • Previous Operating Room (OR) experience required.
  • Active RN license applicable to Nebraska.
  • Relevant perioperative/surgical nursing experience.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Ability to work varied shifts (12 hours, days, nights, rotating) and participate in required call rotation.
  • Strong communication, clinical judgment, and teamwork skills.

Pay

  • Regular Pay: $48.50/hour
  • Weekly Housing & Meal Stipend: $1,196.16/week
  • Estimated Weekly Gross: $2,942.16/week (subject to completion of scheduled hours)
