Unit Specifics
- Number of Beds: 766 licensed beds
- Unit staffing description: 35 OR’s – 25 in block currently with 1 dedicated Trauma emergency room, 1 hybrid room
- Type of equipment: Large number of equipment specific to each specialty; no burn unit, VAD’s, heart transplant, or lung transplants; performs most other procedures
- Documentation system: OR Manager
- Scheduling requirements: All travelers work 1:3 weekends; can accommodate 4×10-hour shifts or 5×8-hour shifts
- Floating policy: To areas with competency; internal float team assists in filling holes; traditionally OR staff do not float to other areas
- Patient Experience requirements: Patients are greeted in the pre-op area and treated like family

- Certifications: Academic Medical Center, Level 1 trauma center (adult); Children’s Hospital within a hospital
