About the Role

Operating Room Nurse (OR) position in Anchorage, AK, providing specialized nursing care in a busy surgical environment. This role focuses on orthopedics, total joints, neuro, and robotics procedures, requiring a proactive approach to patient advocacy and team collaboration to ensure optimal perioperative outcomes.

The surgical unit has 11 ORs and performs procedures such as total joints, multi-level spine fusions, and robotic cases (gynecology, colorectal, general). Experience as a circulator and as a Scrub RN is preferred. The unit uses Epic EMR and emphasizes a positive outlook and team-oriented attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized perioperative nursing care in the operating room.
  • Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in orthopedic, neuro, and robotic surgical procedures.
  • Serve as a circulator and/or Scrub RN as needed.
  • Take on-call shifts, averaging 5-6 weekdays and 1 weekend shift every 4 weeks.

Requirements

  • Alaska Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
  • Minimum of 0 years of experience (entry-level considered).
  • Ability to work three 12-hour shifts per week (10 hours each), totaling a minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Availability to start on 09/14/2026 and end on 12/14/2026.
  • Weekend work and on-call duties during weekdays if scheduled.

  • On-call shifts required: 5-6 weekdays and 1 weekend shift every 4 weeks.

Pay

Pay package is based on 10-hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
