About the role
Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Nurse in Willimantic, Connecticut. This position involves providing care to patients recovering from anesthesia in a fast-paced ambulatory surgical setting. The nurse will be responsible for managing a variety of surgeries, including orthopedic, gynecological, general, and robotic procedures, while adhering to clinical protocols and standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide care to patients recovering from anesthesia in an ambulatory surgical setting
- Manage a variety of surgeries, including orthopedic, gynecological, general, and robotic procedures
- Adhere to clinical protocols and standards
- Perform IV starts
- Recognize aberrant cardiac rhythms
- Utilize EPIC charting system
Requirements
- Valid nursing license
- Proficiency in Ambulatory Surgical and Phase I/II Recovery settings
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
- Ability to work efficiently in a dynamic, high-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in an ambulatory surgical environment
- Familiarity with robotic surgical systems such as da Vinci, MAKO, and Globus
Schedule
- Day shifts, 8 hours per shift
- Minimum of 40 hours per week
