Travel Occupational Therapy Assistant - $1,240 per week
About the role
Focus Staff is seeking a travel Occupational Therapist Assistant for a 13-week assignment in Lawton, Oklahoma.
Responsibilities
- Provides patient care as an Occupational Therapy Assistant to patients in assigned facility (or facilities).
- Affixes patients under direction of an Occupational Therapist to maximize their potential in activities of daily living including areas of self-care, meal time skills, and manipulation skills.
- Constructs adaptive equipment, self-help devices as recommended by OT.
- Affixes OT to instruct and educate patients and families for home care and carry over.
- Properly and accurately documents/charts observations and other data related to the clinical condition of the patient.
- Delivers age appropriate care for the patient population.
- Attends and participates in continuing education programs to monitor proficiency, expand current knowledge and enhance professional excellence.
- Willingly shares knowledge and provides clinical orientation to other members of the staff.
Requirements
- Minimum two years of experience.
- Must possess independent decision-making skills.
- Solid understanding of patient safety and precautions.
- Excellent communication skills with the staff, physicians, patients and families.
- Ability to relate positively to residents and families and work cooperatively with other employees.
- Meet all local health regulations, and successfully complete a post-offer health assessment.
- Physical and sensory requirements (with or without the aid of mechanical devices): walking, reaching, climbing, bending, lifting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to hear and respond to pages; ability to read and write; ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with residents, families, personnel, vendors and consultants; ability to remain calm under stress; ability to distinguish smells, tastes and temperatures.
Qualifications
- Must have a valid state license as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
Skills
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of occupational therapy techniques and principles.

The estimated pay package is based on bill rate at the time the job was posted. Bill rates can change frequently and without notice. Exact pay package may vary based on several factors, including, but not limited to, guaranteed hours, travel distance, demand, experience, etc.
