About the role
American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist with outpatient experience for a neurological rehab clinic setting, with a preference for vestibular and vagus nerve stimulation experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in an outpatient rehabilitation clinic on a hospital campus
- Provide 8-hour day shifts, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM or 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
- Treat a diverse neurological patient population including stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson's disease, and more
- Treat musculoskeletal diagnoses as well
- No float requirement
Requirements
- Active OT license (license required if applicable)
- Minimum 2 years of outpatient OT experience required
- Proficiency with the Fugl-Meyer Upper Extremity Assessment, or ability to learn it quickly
- Current BLS certification
- Two professional references from the last two places of employment, covering the last year, from supervisors in a leadership role
- 7-year employment history required, with explanations for any gaps exceeding 30 days
- Current skills checklist (valid within the last year)
Qualifications
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Skills
- Experience with paired vagus nerve stimulation protocol (Vivistim) is a plus
- Vestibular experience is preferred
Benefits
Pay package is based on 8 hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
