Travel Occupational Therapist - Inpatient Rehab - $2,034 per week

About the Role

American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for an Inpatient Rehab unit in Rockville, Maryland. This is a 13-week travel assignment starting September 14, 2026, with 40 hours per week on a day shift (Tuesday through Saturday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM).

The role involves working in an inpatient rehabilitation facility with an adult patient population diagnosed with conditions such as CVA, TBI, spinal cord injury, amputee, arthritis, dementia, Parkinson's, and multiple sclerosis. The patient ratio is 1:2, and floating within the hospital (within scope of practice) is required. The facility uses the Cerner charting system.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments, evaluations, discharge planning, plan of care development, and reassessments.
• Provide home exercise programs and patient/family education focused on safety and injury prevention.
• Utilize modalities such as electrical stimulation, TENS, ultrasound, myofascial release, and cardiac rehabilitation techniques.
• Conduct functional independence measure (FIM) and functional capacity evaluations.
• Support community re-entry and activities of daily living training.
• Complete non-billable orientation and annual modules through WorkDay (averaging 4-6 hours).

Requirements

• Current Maryland or Compact OT license (if applicable).
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist.
• Current BLS certification.
• Prior travel experience required.
• Experience in teaching hospitals, community hospitals, LTAC, or Trauma Level I settings preferred.
• Experience with prosthetics/orthotics (including above and below knee prosthetics) preferred.
• Experience with dynamic and functional splints preferred.
• Skilled in adaptive equipment assessment, wheelchair evaluation, and home assessments preferred.
• Two supervisor references required for consideration.
• SSN, DOB, and RTO required for consideration.
• Current certification expiration dates required for consideration.

• Former employees must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year.

Pay

Pay package is based on 8-hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
