Travel Occupational Therapist Assistant - $1,826 per week

About the role

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Occupational Therapist Assistant for an immediate opening in Saint Joseph, Missouri. The position is a 13‑week travel assignment with 40 hours per week (8‑hour day shifts) in the Therapy discipline. As an OTA you will work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to help patients of all ages develop, improve, or recover the skills needed for daily living and working, implementing individualized treatment plans and supporting coordinated care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver therapeutic activities and interventions as directed by the supervising OT.
• Monitor patient progress and report observations to the OT to support treatment plan adjustments.
• Document patient performance and progress accurately and in a timely manner per facility and state guidelines.
• Assist patients with exercises, mobility training, and use of adaptive equipment.
• Educate patients and families on techniques to improve independence in daily activities.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment areas and equipment.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support coordinated care.
• Comply with state licensing rules and adhere to facility and professional standards.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Current BLS and COTA (NBCOT OTR) certification.
• Valid state‑specific licensure.
• Ability to lift and assist patients safely.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Solid understanding of anatomy, motor function, and occupational therapy principles.
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
