Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist with prior charge experience for an acute care hospital position working with adult and geriatric populations on a day shift schedule.

Details

  • Acute care hospital OT unit serving adult and geriatric patients
  • Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
  • Caseload of approximately 8 patient visits per day
  • Floating within the facility and within scope of practice may be required
  • Weekend coverage may be required (1–2 days total over the course of the assignment)
  • No on-call requirements
  • EMR: Epic; SBAR communication framework used

Requirements

  • Active OT licensure required (license required if applicable)
  • Current BLS and NBCOT certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience, with at least 2 years in a hospital setting
  • Previous charge experience in acute care OT required

About the Role

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Scrub color options are eggplant purple or olive green (therapist's choice)

RTO is capped at a maximum of 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment

Travelers are expected to work major holidays that fall within their assignment period; if three major holidays occur during the assignment, travelers are expected to work two of them, with one holiday RTO request eligible for review

Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day

Travelers who have previously worked at this facility system must have been away from all system facilities for a full year before returning as a traveler

Local candidates are accepted for this position

No schedule change requests or alternate shift requests will be considered; the posted shift is firm

Full compliance with onboarding requirements must be completed on time to avoid a two-week start date delay due to bi-weekly orientation scheduling

Two supervisory references (manager level or above) are highly preferred; charge-level references are not accepted

Pay package is based on 8 hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation)

with tax-free stipend amount to be determined
