Travel Occupational Therapist - Acute Care Hospital - $2,247 per week

About the role

TotalMed Allied is seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) for an immediate travel opening in Glendive, MT. This is a 13-week travel position working 40 hours per week on 8-hour day shifts. The OT will be responsible for the evaluation and development of a plan of care for a variety of patients needing to improve, regain and develop skills needed for daily life, working in the acute care setting with disabled, ill or injured patient populations.

Responsibilities

• Review patients' medical history, ask patients questions, and observe them doing tasks
• Evaluate a patient's condition and needs
• Develop a treatment plan for patients, identifying specific goals and the types of activities that will be used to help the patient work toward those goals
• Help people with various disabilities perform different tasks
• Evaluate a patient's home or workplace and, on the basis of the patient's health needs, identify potential improvements
• Educate a patient's family and employer about how to accommodate and care for the patient
• Recommend special equipment and instruct patients on how to use that equipment
• Assess and record patient's activities and progress for patient evaluations, for billing, and for reporting to physicians and other healthcare providers
• Provide timely and accurate documentation following state and/or insurance guidelines

Requirements

• 1 year of experience preferred; 6 months of experience may be accepted for an exceptional candidate with an appropriate background
• New grads are encouraged to apply
• BLS certification
• NBCOT-OTR National Certification with state-specific licensing
• Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment
