Travel Occupational Therapist - Acute Care Hospital - $2,098 per week

About the Role

TotalMed Allied is seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) for a travel position in Seattle, Washington. This role involves working in the acute care setting with disabled, ill, or injured patient populations to help them improve, regain, and develop skills needed for daily life.

Responsibilities

• Review patients' medical history, ask questions, and observe them doing tasks
• Evaluate a patient's condition and needs
• Develop a treatment plan for patients, identifying specific goals and the types of activities that will be used to help the patient work toward those goals
• Help people with various disabilities perform different tasks
• Evaluate a patient's home or workplace and, based on the patient's health needs, identify potential improvements
• Educate a patient's family and employer about how to accommodate and care for the patient
• Recommend special equipment and instruct patients on how to use that equipment
• Assess and record patient's activities and progress for patient evaluations, for billing, and for reporting to physicians and other healthcare providers
• Provide timely and accurate documentation following state and/or insurance guidelines

Requirements

• 1 year of experience required; 6 months may be accepted for an exceptional candidate with an appropriate background
• BLS certification required
• NBCOT-OTR National Certification required
• State-specific licensing required
• Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods, as well as bend, lean, or stoop without difficulty
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment
