Description
American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist with 2+ years of acute care experience for a 13-week inpatient acute care hospital assignment in Colorado, covering ortho, trauma, neuro, and general med/surg units.
Details
- Acute care inpatient hospital setting covering ortho, trauma, neuro, general med/surg, and intermediate care unit
- Day shift, 8-hour shifts (7:30am–4:00pm), 5 days per week
- 6 weekend days required over the course of the 13-week contract, with every Sunday as a scheduled workday
- Caseload of approximately 7–8 patients per 8-hour shift
- Common diagnoses include neuro, cardiovascular, and polytrauma
- Epic EMR is used in this position
- No COTAs on staff
Requirements
- Active OT license for the state of Colorado required; pending licenses will not be accepted (license required if applicable)
- Minimum 2 years of acute care OT experience required
- Current BLS certification (AHA) required; pending certifications will not be accepted
- Active CO OT license required
- Driver's license required for consideration
- 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
- Candidates must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates; a driver's license is used to verify permanent address
Additional Information
- Provide occupational therapy services across acute care units including ortho, trauma, neuro, general med/surg, and intermediate care
- Brief orientation provided with the Lead Therapist upon start
- Candidates must be physically present in the state during the orientation week, even if initial modules are completed remotely
- Black scrub top and bottom required
- Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates placed PRN through outside firms will be considered
- Travelers are expected to float within the zone they are hired into and are responsible for securing housing that allows them to meet this requirement
