Travel Occupational Therapist - $2,797 per week

About the role

Travel Occupational Therapist position in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. 13-week contract (also noted as 90 contract weeks), 40 guaranteed hours per week, 8-hour day shifts. Acute, trauma, and/or critical care experience preferred. Oklahoma license preferred. Travel not required.

Responsibilities

• Interpret physician referrals and select appropriate standardized evaluation procedures
• Evaluate patients in independent living skills, occupational performance, prevocational work adjustment, educational skills, play-leisure abilities, social skills, and psychosocial skills
• Interpret evaluation data and develop treatment plans with short- and long-term goals, frequency, and duration
• Assist patients in carrying out procedures through design and fabrication of adaptive equipment and orthotic devices, joint protection, and body mechanics
• Inform patients and families of goals and progress
• Assist with discharge planning by ordering equipment and instructing patients on home therapy plans
• May supervise students
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy
• Current license from the Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision as an Occupational Therapist
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required upon hire
• Knowledge of principles and practices of professional occupational therapy and related materials/supplies
• Skill in organizing and instructing occupational therapy activities
• Ability to interpret prescriptions related to therapy needs
• Good interpersonal skills for establishing effective working relationships with staff
• Ability to communicate instructions and technical information to patients
• Basic computer skills

Schedule

5x8 day shifts (40 hours per week). Rehab department typically staffs 11–12 OT/COTA per day to meet high demand; assigned 11–12 patients per day for 8-hour shift with goal of treating 8 patients.

Pay

Pay package based on 8-hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation). Tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
