Travel Occupational Therapist - $2,689 per week

TalentBurst, Inc is seeking a travel Occupational Therapist for a 13-week assignment in Santa Fe, New Mexico. This is a full-time, day-shift position with a schedule of 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, 10 hours per day, 40 hours per week. The role starts as soon as possible and requires a New Mexico state license and BLS certification from the AHA.

About the Role

Assesses and treats the impact of illness, injury, developmental, or psychological impairments to help patients regain, develop, and learn skills for optimal independence in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). Responsibilities include developing, implementing, and monitoring individualized plans of care, collaborating with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician orders prior to evaluation.
• Evaluates each patient before administering treatments, incorporating psychological and physical issues, and reviewing patient history.
• Completes evaluations and establishes goals and plans of care in collaboration with the patient, family, and healthcare team.
• Administers and directs Occupational Therapy treatments and modalities, including ADL activities, splinting, range-of-motion, endurance building, strengthening exercises, cognitive retraining, coordination, and dexterity training.
• Knows indications and contraindications for treatments; consults physicians if treatment is not indicated.
• Acquires and checks equipment for safety; educates patients and families on treatment procedures and equipment use.
• Applies or supervises treatments such as therapeutic exercises, hot moist packs, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, paraffin, soft tissue mobilization, balance training, and functional mobility training.
• Maintains contact with referring physicians regarding patient progress and recommends changes if indicated.

Requirements

• Education: Doctorate, Master’s, or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
• One year of Occupational Therapy experience preferred.
• Strong skills in assessment/evaluation, decision-making, and time management.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Current New Mexico state licensure from the American Occupational Therapy Association.
• BLS certification required.

Schedule

• 13-week assignment starting 08/24/2026 (ASAP).
• 10-hour shifts, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM, 40 hours per week.
• No weekend requirement; blocked scheduling accommodated.

Pay

Pay package is based on 10-hour shifts and 40 hours per week, including a tax-free stipend (amount to be determined).
