Travel Occupational Therapist - $2,384 per week

About the role

TotalMed Allied is seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) for an immediate travel opening in Hyannis, Massachusetts. This position involves working with disabled, ill, or injured patient populations in the acute care setting, helping patients improve, regain, and develop skills needed for daily life.

Responsibilities

• Review patients' medical history, ask patients questions, and observe them doing tasks
• Evaluate a patient's condition and needs
• Develop a treatment plan for patients, identifying specific goals and the types of activities that will be used to help the patient work toward those goals
• Help people with various disabilities perform different tasks
• Evaluate a patient's home or workplace and, on the basis of the patient's health needs, identify potential improvements
• Educate a patient's family and employer about how to accommodate and care for the patient
• Recommend special equipment and instruct patients on how to use that equipment
• Assess and record patient's activities and progress for patient evaluations, for billing, and for reporting to physicians and other healthcare providers
• Provide timely and accurate documentation following state and/or insurance guidelines

Requirements

• 1 year of experience preferred; for an exceptional candidate with an appropriate background, 6 months of experience may be accepted
• New grads are encouraged to apply
• BLS certification
• NBCOT-OTR National Certification
• State-specific licensing
• Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean, or stoop without difficulty
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment

Schedule

• Duration: 13 weeks
• 40 hours per week
• 8-hour shifts, days
