About the role
This role involves providing occupational therapy services in an acute inpatient setting within a healthcare facility. The position includes coverage of all medical floors, PACU, and emergency department, with occasional floating to other nearby facilities. The selected candidate will work to assist patients with neurological, orthopedic, cardiac, and oncology diagnoses, ensuring optimal recovery and function.
Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy services in an acute inpatient setting
- Cover all medical floors, PACU, and emergency department
- Float occasionally to other nearby facilities
- Assist patients with neurological, orthopedic, cardiac, and oncology diagnoses
- Weekend on-call coverage required every other weekend or one weekend day per week
Requirements
- Valid state licensure with a minimum of 1 year of acute care experience as a licensed occupational therapist
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Experience with neurologic conditions such as CVA, MS, Parkinson's disease, Guillain Barre, cranial surgeries, and spinal surgeries
- Familiarity with common diagnoses in acute inpatient settings and electronic medical records (EPIC)
- Ability to submit a license and be outside the radius rule of 50 miles of the facility
- Willingness to float occasionally to other facilities within the designated radius
Schedule
- Rotating shift, four 10-hour days per week, from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- 40-hour workweek
- Orientation includes hospital, documentation, and departmental training over the first 3-5 days
