Travel Occupational Therapist - $2,229 per week

About the role

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist (OT) for an immediate travel opening in Chelsea, MI. OT should have 1 year of experience; for an exceptional candidate with an appropriate background, 6 months of experience may be accepted. As an OT, you will be responsible for the evaluation and development of a plan of care for a variety of patients needing to improve, regain and develop skills needed for daily life. You will work with disabled, ill or injured patient populations in the acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Review patients' medical history, ask the patients questions, and observe them doing tasks
• Evaluate a patient's condition and needs
• Develop a treatment plan for patients, identifying specific goals and the types of activities that will be used to help the patient work toward those goals
• Help people with various disabilities perform different tasks
• Evaluate a patient's home or workplace and, on the basis of the patient's health needs, identify potential improvements
• Educate a patient's family and employer about how to accommodate and care for the patient
• Recommend special equipment and instruct patients on how to use that equipment
• Assess and record patient's activities and progress for patient evaluations, for billing, and for reporting to physicians and other healthcare providers
• Provide timely and accurate documentation following state and/or insurance guidelines

Requirements

• Minimum 6 months of experience (new graduates encouraged to apply)
• BLS certification
• NBCOT-OTR National Certification with state-specific licensing
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean, or stoop without difficulty
• Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment

Pay

Pay package is based on 8-hour shifts and 40.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
