About the role

The Occupational Therapist will plan, organize, develop, administer, direct, and supervise occupational therapy treatment in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, regulations, and guidelines. The role emphasizes patient and employee safety, with a strong focus on continuous quality improvement in all therapeutic matters.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient’s level of functioning upon physician orders and plan appropriate treatments.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team processes and discharge planning for patients.
  • Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and students, and assist with new staff orientation.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and families at their level of understanding.
  • Complete documentation according to department policies and procedures, including evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Adhere to facility guidelines related to personal appearance, attendance, and safety standards.
  • Instill confidence in team members, patients, and families while maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Utilize resource materials and collaborate with fellow staff for best practices in patient treatment.

Requirements

  • Valid, current state license in occupational therapy is required.
  • BLS certification is necessary.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience is required, with previous inpatient rehab experience preferred.

Pay & Schedule

The pay package is based on 8 hour shifts and 40.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined. The start date is ASAP and the duration is 13 weeks.
