About the role

The Occupational Therapist plans, organizes, develops, administers, directs, and supervises OT treatment in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, regulations, and guidelines. This role embraces the delivery of superior quality care, treating others respectfully, achieving objectives, and focusing on safety for patients and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient’s level of functioning based on physician orders and implement appropriate treatment plans.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team processes and discharge planning, including patient/family education and adaptive equipment recommendations.
  • Complete necessary documentation in accordance with department policies, including initial evaluations and daily progress notes.
  • Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and students in the application of Occupational Therapy techniques.
  • Promote patient and employee safety, adhering to guidelines on safe patient handling and workplace hazards.
  • Communicate with patients and family members effectively and at their level of understanding.
  • Attend team conferences and collaborate with team members for optimal patient care.
  • Demonstrate good safety techniques concerning patients, self, and equipment.

Requirements

  • BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
  • Must hold a valid, current state license.
  • Minimum of 2 years of inpatient hospital experience required.

Schedule

  • 8-hour day shifts, 5 days per week (40 hours total).
