About the role

The Occupational Therapist plans, organizes, develops, administers, directs, and supervises OT treatment in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, regulations, and guidelines. This role emphasizes patient and employee safety, ensuring a focus on providing superior care by adhering to safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient’s level of functioning upon physician orders and plan appropriate treatments.
  • Participate in the interdisciplinary team process and discharge planning for each patient.
  • Complete documentation according to department policy and procedures.
  • Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and students, ensuring competent application of theory and techniques.
  • Evaluate patients effectively and develop individualized treatment plans based on their needs and family goals.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and family members, ensuring understanding of treatment plans.
  • Attend team conferences and collaborate with team members for optimal patient care.
  • Demonstrate good safety techniques regarding patients, self, and equipment.

Requirements

  • Must hold a valid, current State license.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of occupational therapy experience preferred.
  • Inpatient rehabilitation or neuro experience is highly desired.

Schedule

This position offers a Day Shift of 5×8 hours.
