About the role
TotalMed Allied is seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) for an immediate travel opening in Kutztown, PA.
Responsibilities
- Review patients' medical history, ask patients questions, and observe them doing tasks
- Evaluate a patient's condition and needs
- Develop a treatment plan for patients, identifying specific goals and the types of activities that will be used to help the patient work toward those goals
- Help people with various disabilities perform different tasks
- Evaluate a patient's home or workplace and, on the basis of the patient's health needs, identify potential improvements
- Educate a patient's family and employer about how to accommodate and care for the patient
- Recommend special equipment and instruct patients on how to use that equipment
- Assess and record patient's activities and progress for patient evaluations, for billing, and for reporting to physicians and other healthcare providers
- Provide timely and accurate documentation following state and/or insurance guidelines
Requirements
- 1 year of experience preferred; for an exceptional candidate with an appropriate background, 6 months of experience may be accepted
- BLS certification
- NBCOT-OTR National Certification
- State-specific licensing
- Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty
- Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment

- 30 hours per week
