Travel Occupational Therapist - $1,317 per week

About the role

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist (OT) for an immediate travel opening in Severna Park, MD. The position is for 13 weeks, 30 hours per week, with 10-hour day shifts. This is a travel employment opportunity.

As an OT, you will be responsible for the evaluation and development of a plan of care for a variety of patients needing to improve, regain, and develop skills needed for daily life. You will work with disabled, ill, or injured patient populations in the acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Review patients' medical history, ask the patients questions, and observe them doing tasks.
• Evaluate a patient's condition and needs.
• Develop a treatment plan for patients, identifying specific goals and the types of activities that will be used to help the patient work toward those goals.
• Help people with various disabilities perform different tasks.
• Evaluate a patient's home or workplace and identify potential improvements based on the patient's health needs.
• Educate a patient's family and employer about how to accommodate and care for the patient.
• Recommend special equipment and instruct patients on how to use that equipment.
• Assess and record patient's activities and progress for evaluations, billing, and reporting to physicians and other healthcare providers.
• Provide timely and accurate documentation following state and/or insurance guidelines.

Requirements

• Must have at least 6 months of experience; new graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Must have BLS (Basic Life Support) and NBCOT-OTR National Certification with state-specific licensing.
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
• Should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean, or stoop without difficulty.
• Must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.

Pay

Pay package is based on 10-hour shifts and 30 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
