Travel Observation Unit RN - $1,977 per week

About the role

This is a 13-week travel contract position in the Observation Unit, providing care to adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses such as chest pain, abdominal pain, atrial fibrillation, TIA, and more. The unit operates at a fast pace with a target length of stay of 18 to 24 hours, managing approximately two-thirds of patients under EDOBS providers during daytime hours.

Schedule

• Day shift: 3x12-hour shifts from 06:45 - 19:15
• Weekend requirements: Every other weekend
• 36 hours per week

Responsibilities

• Complete patient assessments and care planning
• Administer medications, including intermediate medication gtts (e.g., heparin, nitro, cardizem, insulin)
• Monitor and manage patients with cardiac drips and dysrhythmias
• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy and respiratory services
• Participate in patient education and discharge planning
• Float to other facilities within the service line as needed

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a relevant specialty
• Charge nurse experience required
• Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS
• Ohio RN license required (or pending license accepted with a Michigan license in hand)
