Travel OB/GYN RN - $2,169 per week

About the role

TotalMed is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Kennewick, WA. This is a 13-week assignment with 36 hours per week, 12-hour night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide care and support for women before, during, and after delivery
• Ensure medical and emotional needs of patients are met throughout the birthing process
• Assist physicians when epidurals or pain medications are administered
• Assist when episiotomies are performed
• Assist when patients require preparation for a cesarean delivery
• Stay with and monitor patients throughout labor
• Monitor contractions and help patients with breathing techniques
• Check cervix periodically to monitor progression or lack of dilation
• Ensure beds are kept clean and dry; clean up bodily fluids expelled before and after birthing process
• Aid physicians with drapes, gloves, gowns, delivery instruments, and other supplies
• Provide immediate care of newborns

Requirements

• 3 years' recent acute care experience
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• FHM certification
• NRP certification
• 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
• Ability to bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty
• Ability to easily lift 20 pounds
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when moving or lifting patients
• Good skills for coping with stress in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds
