About the Role

Travel nursing position for a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at a Level 2B Special Care Nursery in Salem, Massachusetts. This is a 13-week assignment with 36 hours per week, primarily 12-hour day shifts, including rotation through days, evenings, and nights with one night of call. Evening and night shifts do not rotate.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care in a 25-bed unit encompassing Labor & Delivery (L&D), Postpartum (PP), Newborn Nursery (NBN), 2 Operating Rooms (ORs), 2 Antepartum/Neonatal Unit (ANU) rooms, and Recovery Room (RR).
  • Adhere to clinician-to-patient ratios: L&D (1:2-3 evaluations, 1:1 active labor, magnesium drip, or epidural), PP (1:3-4).
  • Care for a diverse patient population including mothers, babies, and laboring patients.
  • Utilize EPIC as the electronic medical record (EMR) system.

Requirements

  • Active RN license.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of NICU experience required.
  • 3 years of experience working in one location; 2 years of experience as a traveler.
  • Proficiency in Special Care Nursery and Newborn Care.
  • No floating required.
  • Rotating shifts: Day rotation (7a-7p, 11a-11p, 7p-7a) with one night of call.

Qualifications

  • Certifications: AHA BLS and NRP.
