About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for a designated group of patients in an inpatient environment. This role requires competency in delivering care to a primarily adult population. The RN adheres to the ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice, 2nd Edition (2010).

Requirements

  • 2 years of RN - ED/Trauma experience.
  • Telemetry competence.
  • Current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact).
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA-approved equivalent.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Trauma Nurse course certification (TNCC).
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is required within one year or hire.

Qualifications

  • Clinical competence and experience in the care and management of target patient populations specific to the area of employment.
  • Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice, typically acquired through completion of education at an accredited School of Nursing, making the candidate eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
