The Pulmonary unit is comprised of 36 private patient rooms and is predominantly an adult/geriatric medical unit, providing care for, but not limited to, the following conditions:
- Acute Respiratory Failure
- Pneumonia
- Pulmonary Embolism
- Congestive Heart Failure
- Lung Cancer
- Influenza
- Covid
- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Diseases
- Chest pain without cardiac intervention
- Tuberculosis
- Pleural Effusion
- Sepsis without mechanical ventilation
- Pulmonary Fibrosis
- Medical Stabilization of Behavioral Health Patients
- Pulmonary accepts overflow patients from the following service lines:
- Cardiovascular
- Surgical
- Acute Medical
Frequent procedures/services/processes:
- Tracheostomy care
- High Flow oxygen therapy
- Arterial blood gas
- Bipap/CPAP maintenance
- Bedside chest tube insertion assistance and maintenance
- Bedside thoracentesis assistance
- Cardiac monitoring
- NG tube insertions
- PEG tube maintenance
- Central line/PICC line maintenance
- IV starts
- Urinary catheterization
- Simple and complex wound care
- Patient observation
- Patient and family teaching
- Discharge teaching and home care instructions
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse, Telemetry RN(Compact Accepted)
- 18 months of Tele experience needed, GA or compact license in hand
- IV insertion
- PICC lines
- meditech charting
