About the role

Telemetry (TELE) nurses are needed for a healthcare facility located in a region that offers a dynamic acute care environment. This position involves providing specialized cardiac monitoring and patient care on a 12-hour night shift. The role requires collaboration within a team-oriented setting to deliver high-quality patient services in a fast-paced unit.

The unit houses 32 beds with a daily census of approximately 17.5 patients, including step-down ICU patients. Equipment utilized includes C-Pap, Bi-Pap, high-flow vents, and other respiratory support devices. Nurse-to-patient ratios are maintained at 5:1 or better, with specialized ratios for ICU and IMC units. Floating to the emergency department for code or trauma support may be required. Orientation includes one day with a registered nurse.

Schedule

• 12-hour night shifts
• Minimum of 36 hours per week
• Flexibility for weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized cardiac monitoring and patient care
• Read cardiac strips
• Perform critical care procedures such as IV starts, phlebotomy, EKG, and cardioversions
• Collaborate within a team-oriented setting
• Support code or trauma situations in the emergency department as needed

Requirements

• Valid license to practice as a registered nurse
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a similar clinical setting

Pay

Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
