Schedule

Duration: 13 weeks
Hours: 36 hours per week (12‑hour rotating shifts)

Responsibilities

• Provide care for postpartum patients, including couplets and GYN surgical cases.
• Manage Level 2 nursery responsibilities such as 24‑hour testing, bilirubin monitoring, NAS scoring, care of late preterm and blood‑sugar babies.
• Perform IV starts, phlebotomy, magnesium sulfate administration, blood administration, and insulin drip management.
• If L&D trained, circulate C‑sections, provide C‑section recovery care, and perform cervical checks.
• Float to additional units as needed (e.g., L&D, NICU, Pediatrics, PICU).

Requirements

• Certifications required: BLS, NRP.
• Preferred certifications: Stable, CBC; if L&D trained, ACLS, certification in inpatient obstetrics, electronic fetal monitoring, or inpatient antepartum.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years in L&D or 2 years postpartum/GYN nursing.
• Experience with couplet care, GYN surgical patients, and Level 2 nursery newborn care.
