Unit: Mother Baby Unit at Mission Hospital (509 Biltmore Avenue, 5th floor, Building G).

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 34 private couplet rooms
• Staffing:
  • Day Shift: 1 charge RN, 11 RNs, 1 PCT/secretary
  • Night Shift: 1 charge RN, 11 RNs, 1 PCT/secretary
• Patient Ratios: 1:3-4 couplets
• Equipment: Alaris pumps, Bilirubin blankets/lights
• EMR: Cerner

Responsibilities

• Provide care for post-partum mothers and newborns in a couplet-care model
• Perform typical procedures such as circumcisions
• Float to Labor & Delivery (L&D) and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) as needed
• Adhere to unit guidelines, including weekend requirements (no call shifts)

Requirements

• Active RN license
• BLS and NRP certifications (required)
• Mother Baby experience (must have; non-negotiable)
• Travel nursing experience (preferred)
• Experience caring for patients on Magnesium Sulfate post-delivery (preferred)
• STABLE certification (preferred)

Dress code: Navy blue/white scrubs.
